Boating Safety
Classes
Spartanburg Water System
Lake Wardens will conduct the South Carolina Dept. Of Natural Resources
Boating Safety Classes during the Spring of each year. New class dates for Spring of 2008: All scheduled classes are over. Additional classes may be scheduled depending on interest. All persons attending must
pre-register by calling the Spartanburg Water System -Lake Bowen Warden’s
office at (864) 592-2240 or the Lake Blalock Warden’s Office at (864)
578-5442. These classes are for adults or children. South Carolina Law
requires that anyone under the age of 16 wanting to operate a boat or a
personal watercraft that is less than 16 feet with a horsepower greater than
15 must take and pass this course. All students must have their Social
