Watershed Watchdog Program

The Watershed Watchdog Program was established to help ensure a safe and reliable water source for the citizens of Spartanburg County. The Watershed Watchdogs consist of volunteers who either live or travel through the watersheds of Lakes William C. Bowen, Municipal Reservoir #1, or H. Taylor Blalock. These Watchdogs are looking for any unusual activities or concerns such as:

Animal Crossings

Runoff/silt buildup

Change in Vegetation/Aquatic Plants

Vandalism

Beaver Dams

Abandoned vehicle/boat

Excessive foam in water

Animal Carcass

Excessive Turbidity/odd color

Drums/Containers

Unusual odors

Fish Kill

Construction/Dredging

Oil Slicks

Dumping

Trash, garbage, tires, etc

Pulping/Clearing

Sewer/Septic tank leaks
